Look no further than Chicago's own Smith Westerns for 2011's massively popular buzzing blog sweethearts. While others have failed to make the jump from a lo-fi introduction to studio polished debut (Black Kids), Smith Westerns combine the energy of 1970s guitar work with synthy-atmospherics and have transformed the lo-fi noise pop that gained them notoriety into shimmery summer diamonds of blue sky music.
